The Edwin S. Taylor Folly Beach fishing pier is operated by Charleston County Parks and Recreation. The pier offers easy parking (fees vary by date) and the ability to fish or simply walk and enjoy as you stroll the 1,045 foot walkway into the Atlantic ocean 23 feet above sea level.
The pier is owned and operated by Charleston County Parks and Recreation and features a small gift and tackle shop, restaurant, and bar. Bathrooms, showers, and fishing rod rentals are all available at the pier as is oceanfront dining at Pier 101 Restaurant and bar. Picnic tables and benches abound on and below the pier making this a great picnic and casual lunch spot too!
The daily fishing rates for the pier are reasonable at only $5 per adult, $3 seniors (60+), children (12 and under) $3. Active military receive a reduced rate of $4. Groups of 10 or more also are only $4 each. You can even rent a fishing rod for a full day for just $10 with a $25 deposit.
The county park also offers “Moonlight Mixers” (aka shag at the pier) throughout the summer 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. — the dates for the year 2018 will be May 25, June 15, July 6, August 17, and September 14. $8 early bird price or $10 at the gate.
