Makeup Beach Yoga Class on Folly

Folly Beach Island Yoga Classes Teacher Samantha kreshover Class

We were so completely bummed that beach yoga had to be cancelled on Veteran’s Day due to the wind and cold, so we decided to squeeze in one last class for the Fall season! Join us on Saturday, November 18, for our final public beach yoga class of the season! The class is just $12 for the public, and we will once again honor the offer for a free class for all of our military and U.S. service veteran friends with an ID or DD-214.

The class will be taught by Samantha Kreshover and will be open level. Bring a large beach towel or two and plenty of water!

If you can’t make this class, consider booking a private session with us. We love working with friends, families, or individuals who want to experience yoga by the sea and we offer reasonable rates and flexible scheduling. Beach yoga makes the perfect kickoff to Thanksgiving week, a birthday party celebration, wedding week, and more, and it’s more affordable than you think to schedule a private class. Feather in a Tidal Pool

folly beach island yoga feather in a tidepool

A feather floating in a tide pool on a Folly Beach walk…beauty is all around us.

At the spot where we teach beach yoga we are often treated to tidal pools. Sometimes they catch stunning creatures like crabs or small fish. Sometimes we see starfish..especially in late winter. For our children, getting to come with us to work is a true delight when the remnants of high tide remain on the shore. Separate from the current of the ocean these fascinating and fleeting pools by the sea warm quickly in the sun and allow for a little more relaxed and exploratory play on the beach.

It’s a fairly common sight honestly, but there’s just something so mesmerizing about watching something so natural and beautiful floating in a tide pool by the sea beside an oyster shell…

Sea Turtle Nesting Season

Cheering for all of these little guys and gals out on the island tonight! These sweet little babies were laid close to our beach yoga class spot. We are so very much hoping to see little scoots in the sand headed back to their real home soon!

Fun fact I learned tonight on FollyTurtles.com: Female turtles will return to the beach that they were born on to lay their eggs. How beautiful is that? Folly gals!

Such a tiny fraction of these beautiful creatures will survive to reproduce….but YOU have the power to help. Remember lights out on the beach at night, fill in any holes and knock down sand castles at the end of the day, and please clean up any trash.

Free Autism Safety Kit – Big Red Safety Box

Folly Beach Island Yoga Autism Class Parents Safety Free Box

Nearly 1/2 of all children with autism bolt or wander. This pic was taken moments before our son suddenly bolted for the woods by the spray play at Wanamaker Park (Charleston County Parks and Recreation) just a couple of weeks ago. Since he is nonverbal and often attracted to water, with his newfound wandering tendencies something as simple as a trip to the park to play in water sprinklers can spell real anxiety for an autism parent. The National Autism Association is offering their “Big Red Safety Box” for FREE to families of children who have autism — it includes  an educational booklet, 2 window alarms, a MedicAlert bracelet and shoe tag, 5 laminated adhesive “stop” sign visual prompts for doors and exits, 2 safety alert windshield clings, a safety alert wristband, and a child ID kid from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A diagnosis is required.

If you are not a parent or caregiver of an autistic child, consider donating to this worthy cause. It could truly save someone’s life one day.
