Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve Park

This fascinating piece of history is only accessible by hiking through the dunes at the very end of East Ashley Avenue, Folly Beach. Along the way to the inlet you will pass the foundations of buildings of yesteryear from the Coast Guard station that once stood there. Upon arrival to the beach you will notice a driftwood boneyard and plenty of space for walking and enjoying one of the few remaining truly uninhabited areas of Folly Beach. Dogs are not allowed in the Lighthouse Heritage Preserve park at any time, and there is very limited parking, but it is well-worth the trip to discover this undisturbed section of the island of Folly Beach.
